Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
Stateside actor Finn, who appeared in popular television series like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a message.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is leaves behind his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
