Slot Asserts He Is Safe and Has The Club's Support Following PSV Eindhoven Loss

The Liverpool head coach conceded that it was expected for doubts to be raised about his future following another convincing defeat against PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool endured their ninth loss in 12 matches, marking the team's worst run after being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were dominated by the Dutch league title holders on a tough evening at their home ground.

“I feel secure, I am OK, I've received significant support from management,” the coach commented.

“It's important to turn it around and get a victory of course but when you're working as a coach and not doing well then it's typical that questions are asked.”

He noted, “I am OK with my situation. This isn't the initial instance I’ve been in a tough spot but it's necessary that we improved our results.”

Discussions with Club Management

Upon being questioned to provide details on his dialogues with the club's leadership, Slot revealed:

“We communicate frequently. They are supportive to the team and for me and we discuss these matters but they don't phone me constantly each day to say they have faith in me.”

He added, “Through standard conversations we have I perceive the confidence. However I haven’t spoken to them after this match so far so let’s see.”

Persistent Failings and Squad Reaction

The manager expressed regret over recurring weaknesses from his squad in their Champions League loss, specifically wasted chances and defensive lapses.

Meanwhile, midfielder Curtis Jones was blunter in his view of the team's situation.

“I haven't got the solutions. Frankly, I do not. I’m saying that to all,” Jones stated.

“It's simply unacceptable. I don’t even have to wait to think about it. I’m past getting mad inside. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the vocabulary.”

He continued, “It's tough because I play for the side I follow. I support them, and I’ve seen Liverpool all my life.”

“For many years, I haven’t experienced a Reds side enduring a phase of this nature with results so bad.”

Jones concluded, “But we still have that badge on our chest. And until it is gone, we'll continue to battle.”

“We will attempt to help the side back to where it needs to be, demonstrate to all once more what Liverpool stands for and the reason it's called the best team in the planet.”

“However currently, we're in trouble and we have to turn it around.”
