Lawmakers Disclose Latest Set of Jeffrey Epstein Photographs as Department of Justice Time Limit Looms

The House investigative committee has released a collection of around 70 images obtained from the property of deceased found guilty sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This represents the latest in a series of publication from a larger collection of in excess of 95,000 photographs the committee has obtained from Epstein's estate. It features photographs of passages from the literary work Lolita scrawled across a female's body, and obscured images of women's international passports.

This disclosure arrives mere hours before the 19 December cut-off for the Justice Department to release each records associated with its probe into Epstein.

"These new images bring up additional queries about exactly what the DOJ has in its custody," remarked the senior Democrat of the committee, Robert Garcia.

What's in the Images Released

Some of the images published on Thursday depict Epstein speaking with academic and activist Noam Chomsky inside a personal aircraft; Bill Gates seen next to a female whose face is obscured; Steve Bannon seated at a workstation across from Epstein, and ex- Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a evening meal.

These are the latest wealthy, prominent men to be seen in Epstein property photographs disclosed by the oversight panel - earlier disclosed images also include US President Donald Trump and former president Bill Clinton, as well as director Woody Allen, former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.

Showing up in the photos is not proof of any misconduct, and a number of the pictured individuals have said they were never participating in Epstein's illegal activity.

In a statement released with the photo release, Democrats on the US House Oversight Committee stated the Epstein property holders did not offer background information or timeframes for the pictures.

"Images were picked to furnish the American people with clarity into a illustrative selection of the photographs received from the estate, and to offer perspectives into Epstein's circle and his profoundly disturbing behavior," the announcement says.

The publication also features several photographs of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov literary work Lolita inscribed in black ink across several locations of a woman's body, such as her chest, feet, hip, and rear. Lolita narrates the tale of a young girl who was exploited by a older literature professor.

A particular quote from the novel written across a woman's upper body states, "Lolita: the end of the tongue traveling of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth".

There are also a number of photos of female travel documents and ID papers from countries around the world, including Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

The majority of the details on the papers, such as identities and DOBs, is obscured but the committee indicated in a announcement that the travel documents are associated with "individuals whom Jeffrey Epstein and his associates were interacting with".

A further image features Epstein positioned at a workstation closely in the company of three individuals whose identities have been censored - one individual has her hand on Epstein's torso under his garment, and another is crouching to examine a adjacent computer. Epstein can be seen to be aiding the third individual put on a piece of jewelry.

A further image made public is a image of SMS messages from an unidentified sender who states they have been sent "several females" and are demanding "$1000 per girl".

Image Release Arrives Ahead of DOJ Deadline

The body has many thousands of photos in its holdings from the Epstein property, which are "both graphic and ordinary," its press release on recently clarified.

The oversight panel first issued a subpoena to the estate of Epstein, who passed away in a New York jail in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on charges of human trafficking, in August.

The photographs and records the Epstein property submitted to the panel are different than what is largely called "Epstein-related records". That material are records within the Department of Justice's control connected to its independent probe into Epstein.

Under the recently passed law, which the President made law recently, the DOJ has a deadline of 19 December to disclose its records. The scope of what's included in the DOJ's files is not publicly known, and it's likely that a large amount of the material will be significantly redacted, akin to Congressional materials
