The British tennis star earned the most notable success of his career by coming back from a early deficit to beat world No 1 Carlos Alcaraz with a stunning comeback in the second round of the Paris Masters.

While he had previously defeated Alcaraz on two prior meetings, this win signifies Norrie's initial win over a sitting world number one.

Alcaraz seemed to be advancing smoothly to a win early on as he eased past the initial stanza. However, Norrie slowly fought his way into the match by executing with improved accuracy and pulling the Spaniard into prolonged, grueling points. His persistent shot tolerance and dependability slowly made an impact.

Through most of the battle, Alcaraz performed well on serve but he had difficulty to get his timing right off his groundstrokes. The young star seemed especially uncomfortable hitting his forehand, which has been the best shot in the game for much of this year, producing 29 mistakes off the forehand side and a combined of 54 mistakes. Opposing him, Norrie offered his opponent very few errors, maintaining his steadiness, athleticism and depth throughout while performing well on serve and choosing his moments to move into the court and strike effectively.
